This was a big song for John Conley that he co-wrote with George Barber. When it hit the airwaves back in April 1978 the song peaked at #5 in the US and #6 in Canada. It was Conley's first song to hit the country charts

This song has a simple root down up down up root down up down up rhythm pattern. Towards the end of the song where I stop, you can use a shuffle strum combined with a bass run to led you back into the chorus.
But because of the way the chords change, it doesn't lend itself to using bass notes in the strumming, but bass runs do fit well, so use those as you see me doing here in the demo.
