This song wasn't written by Gary Allan but it's a track on his "Smoke Rings In The Dark" album released back in 1999.

Other artists have recorded the song prior to Garry Allan including Ty Hearndon in 1996, and after Allan release Doug Stone covered the song in 2007 as did Frankie Ballard in 2014.

This song was never released as a single.

From the 2003 album "See If I Care" Allan scored another #1 hit song with this release and reaching #6 in Canada. After this #1, Allan had a dry spell until 2013 when he hit #1 again with "Every Storm Runs Out Of Rain".

8. Watching Airplanes

In 2007 Allan released his "Living Hard" album and this track as a single. It peaked at #2 in the US and #11 in Canada. Allan wife, who was a flight attendant, had committed suicide before this time and writers Jim Beaver and Jonathan Singleton wrote this song in her memory. The song also picked up a nomination for Single Of The Year at the 43rd ACMA's.
