Rock Me Gently came about from persistence by Andy Kim who had no record label and only enough money to record a single with two songs. Talk about a gutsy call, he put Rock Me Gently on side A and an instrumental version of Rock Me Gently on side B.

Sugar Sugar was written by Jeff Barry and Andy Kim and first recorded by the animated group The Archies for their 1969 album Everything's Archie.
The infectious bubblegum pop classic spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of the biggest-selling singles of the decade. Andy Kim later recorded his own version, bringing a more personal interpretation to a song he helped create.
Released during the early years of promotional music films, the original recording became a worldwide phenomenon thanks to radio, television and the popularity of The Archie Show. Its irresistible melody continues to make it one of pop music's most enduring feel-good classics.
For this song I play a D, G, A and a C chord. In standard tuning for the original key, this one doesn't have any lead in it but there are a few riffs required as you play a down up pause up rhythm pattern in the chorus and I'm playing a muted down stroke pattern for the verses.
